Alcaidesa, on the western Costa del Sol, between the municipal districts of La Línea and San Roque, very close to the Sotogrande and Valderrama golf courses. Exit 124 on the dual carriageway Designed by Peter Allis & Clive Carr, The topography of the terrain in Alcaidesa consists of rolling hillsides sloping gently to the sea and ending in a stunningly beautiful beach. 
It has almost 2 km of beachfront. A considerable number of its holes give on to the beach, between sand dunes only partially  covered by vegetation.  The course has an uninterrupted 18-hole round beginning at the first hole by the Clubhouse and not returning to the latter until the18th, also located by the Clubhouse. 
The difficulty on the course mainly concerns the prevailing winds in the area. One of the
peculiarities that most impresses the visitor are the spectacular views of the Mediterranean, the Straits of Gibraltar and North Africa, and the unobstructed views of the sea from virtually any location on the course. Because the course is a links course, the winds in the area substantially influence play. 
There are currently 5 par threes, two of which have waterfeatures in front, 8 par fours and 5 par fives, of which one has a water feature just in front of the green.

The New Golf Course  - Opening November 2007
The new course designed by Dave Thomas Ltd offers a variety of natural landscapes ranging from the plateau area (holes 1 to 5 & 17th & 18th) where the course has the feel of a Heathland course with wide fairways & outstanding views of the Mediterranean sea & the local mountain ranges, including the Sierra Nevada, to the river valley where the holes meander along the valley & incorporate various water features/hazards.
